On January 20, 2018 - SVGA joined with SFGA to host the Saskatchewan Produce Conference at Smiley's Buffet & Event Centre in Saskatoon, Sask.  The event was well attended with many interesting speakers. Kate Congreves (U of S)- Organic Matter & Soil Health; George Lewko (Paintball PA)-Improving your Online & Social Media Presence; Gary Hughes (Sobey's) Partnering with Local Growers; Clinton Monchuk (Farm & Food Care)-Building Trust in Agriculture; James Kettel (Ministry of Ag Trade & Value Added Branch)-International Market Development; and Jeff Cooper (STEP)-Exporting 101- Looking Beyond Saskatchewan.  The lunch buffet had something for everyone!  Connie Achtymichuk (Provincial Vegetable Specialist) and Forrest Scharf (Provincial Fruit Specialist)  presented results from the ADOPT projects they had been working on this year.  This was followed by a round table meeting, annual meeting and a tour of the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre processing plant.  Dan Prefontaine and Carmen Ly did a great job leading the tour.  Thank you to all those who attended!
