The Saskatchewan Vegetable Growers Association (SVGA) is the voice of Saskatchewan's vegetable growing industry. We're rooted in the issues affecting Saskatchewan's horticulture sector.
About
The SVGA was incorporated as a Non-Profit Organization in 1969. The SVGA works towards the advancement of Saskatchewan’s vegetable growing industry. This is accomplished through providing and distributing useful scientific and general information on vegetable production and marketing to our members and through partnerships with industry stakeholders.
The association strives to:
- Provide a voice for the vegetable industry at all levels of government
- Encourage cooperation and networking opportunities among members and horticultural organizations
- Improve industry methods and practices through education and workshops
- Promote the industry to the public and encourage greater consumption of Saskatchewan Grown produce
- Promote individual and collective interests in solving problems at the local, provincial and national level
- Advance and protect the growing, harvesting and marketing of vegetables in Saskatchewan.
The SVGA holds educational programs throughout the year, such as On Farm Food Safety training workshops, Field Day Tours held at various locations around the province and an annual conference & trade show.
